Chester Alumnae & Upsilon Tau Host Candid Conversation on HIV/AIDS

Chester (PA) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, in conjunction with Upsilon Tau, hosted a virtual World AIDS Day that focused on the impact of HIV/AIDS on youth from birth to 24 years old. The program’s objective was to bring awareness to the broader community on how to eradicate the disease through education and prevention.

Almost 80 attendees joined in to hear from keynote speaker, Dr. Roberta Laguerre-Frederique. 

Dr. Laguerre-Frederique is a board-certified pediatrician at the Dorothy Mann Center for Pediatric & Adolescent HIV at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. The event’s other speakers included Jermel Wallace of Philadelphia and Corinne Repko of Family & Community Services of Delaware County, who provided resources to the community such as testing sites, medication, and counseling offered in Delaware and Philadelphia county.
