The Economic Development & FUNdraising Committees of Princess Anne Alumnae Chapter (PAAC) hosted its third annual SOS ( Sisters On the Shore) Networking Event on April 25, 2001.  Due to the continuation of the pandemic, the chapter adjusted and held  SOS event virtually.  They were elated to have more than 40 attendees . Sisters On the Shore is created for the Sisters ( Women) of the DelMarVa Eastern Shore with the purpose:

To Create a Local Community and Business based Networking Circle for Women, of theDelMarVa Eastern Shore, that allows the chapter to celebrate who they are as Women. The “Sisters On the Shore” platform is built on a group of Women, with a multitude of various backgrounds of professionalism and community outreach.  Where titles, position, and organizational symbols and colors are not needed. They worked together to remove all barriers that interfere with the chapter’s ability to support and uplift each other daily.

The theme of this year’s event was derived from all of the recent high level visibility of  power and strength displayed by Women throughout the world today. The chapter chose  to capitalize on this observance and chose the celebrate – The Year of the Woman.”

The program hosted by all women,  was designed to provide  Meditation, Spirits, Celebrations and Laughter.  The chapter incorporated local female artists of the Eastern Shore, to display some hidden talents that lay within the nearby counties and cities.  Local artists included: Spoken Word: Sharnell ” Sista Big” Tull, Amber Green; and Comedian: Sheila Curtis, LAFF ‘N JAZZ Entertainment.

Lastly, the chapter also took the time to recognize its ” Sisters” of the community of DelMarVa, that are Promoting Excellence In their lives along with uplifting and working for the improvement and betterment of their community. This year, the nominees were recognized with great honor as their “Sunflowers Of The Shore”
