St. Croix Alumnae Donates Treats to Hospital During COVID-19 Pandemic

St. Croix Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated donated over 200 cupcakes to the staff of the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center, to show itsr support and appreciation for their service, especially during the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 pandemic.


The hospital team was elated during the presentation of the cupcakes. Dyma Williams, Acting Chief Executive Officer, thanked the chapter and expressed her appreciation for the thoughtful and considerate gesture. Inga Chapman, Director of Employee Relations, gave a heartfelt thank you and indicated that the hospital often gets criticized and seldom praised, therefore efforts like this really make their day.


“We thank all medical personnel for their hard work and acknowledge the critical role they play while placing their lives at risk daily. The cupcake treats are a small token of our huge appreciation.” stated Sana Joseph Smith, President of St. Croix Alumnae Chapter.


Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center is the only acute care facility on the island of St. Croix. The facility has implemented tremendous measures to proactively prepare for the treatment and care of coronavirus patients, while continuing to provide ongoing general healthcare services. St. Croix Alumnae Chapter will continue its initiatives to support the hospital and other entities in the St. Croix community during the pandemic.
